Analyzing the main players in the industry

Here, the objective is to identify the latest innovation trends and analyze features that can be improved. As I did not find a specific platform for school books, I compared the solutions of leading companies in book and used product sharing.

• There are some platforms for used books, but most apps focus on buying and are not directed towards textbooks.
• On specific used book platforms, it is possible to register titles in the system by reading the barcode or typing the ISBN.

Facebook Marketplace offers users a consistent and satisfactory experience when marketing used products. It has almost all the requirements mentioned, however, it does not have a search or registration of books by ISBN or barcode.

Skoob is the only one that has a search for works by ISBN. Book exchange is done through points acquired by sending books to people who request them. However, only after accumulating points can the user request them.
