The purpose of the research was to gather more information about the problem, help avoid my assumptions, clarify doubts generated in the CSD Matrix, as well as understand the ethnographic profile of the future user, their needs, pains, desires, motivations, and challenges.

Methodology

📉 Qualitative-quantitative research:

During the research process, I chose to use online questionnaires (Google Forms) to collect information from parents of students enrolled in the 8th grade in private schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro. This choice was motivated by observing how frequently the topic of seeking and donating used textbooks was discussed in the WhatsApp group of the school where my daughter studied.

The questionnaire was sent to two WhatsApp groups of private schools that have students enrolled in the 8th grade.

The form was divided into two stages and was answered by 39 people.


Questions aimed at understanding the profile of the population that participated in the survey, including age, gender, profession, educational level, number of children, and age range. Thus, I created the ethnographic profile infographic below:

Ethnographic Profile Infographic: Mothers are mostly responsible for purchasing school supplies. They are in the age range of 45 to 60 years old, with high education levels and family income above R$ 24,000.00. Usually, they have 2 children aged between 14 and 17 years old.

Related to user needs, preferences, motivations, evaluation of the experience of buying or selling used textbooks, challenges, and curious situations.
