I used the CSD Matrix as a tool to determine a starting point and organize my thoughts. With the data collected in the Desk Research, I listed my certainties, assumptions, and doubts to define what would still need to be discovered and, therefore, carry out research with future users.
The main questions were to understand what were the biggest difficulties in getting used school books and whether it would be easier to look for books or donate them. What is the most common way for parents to get the books? Why are used school books only in high demand from the sixth year onwards?
As I have gone through this experience before, I may have some biases in mind that could skew solutions during the ideation stage. That's why it was important to map them out.
Most mothers are responsible for acquiring their children's school supplies.
People prefer to sell their children's used books to buy new ones.
The practical and quick way to find used school books is by contacting the parents of students who are one year ahead in the same school.
